Agro-Industrial
Productive farms, healthy animals, clean water.
- Improve crop yields
- Protect animal health
- Eliminate sludge production
- Eliminate discharge to streams and rivers
- Secure constant irrigation supply through drought years
Sheaffer Systems are suited to handling highly concentrated wastewater from animal husbandry operations, while still providing the unique environmental benefits integral to the Sheaffer approach to wastewater management. In fact, Sheaffer Systems expedite the manure handling process, protecting the health of the animals and preventing contamination of local streams and rivers.
High-quality reclaimed water from the Sheaffer System is used to irrigate farmland or other open space. To achieve proper nutrient reduction, the reclaimed water may be filtered and disinfected prior to irrigation. In the case of highly concentrated wastewater with especially high levels of phosphorus and nitrogen, other, standard treatment chemicals may be added to further precipitate excessive nutrients. In this way, Sheaffer Systems not only prevent point source pollution by providing a non-discharging wastewater reclamation and reuse system, but also help farmers eliminate non-point pollution.
